Tearfund seeks to unite people and churches across the UK in a day of prayer on Saturday 05 June to celebrate the beauty of God’s world, to repent of the damage we have done to it and to pray for a sustainable future.
This year is vital for planning a greener and fairer future for the whole world. Two major gatherings of world leaders will take place in the UK – the G7 Summit in Cornwall in June and the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow in November. Decisions taken by the world leaders at these gatherings will affect us all, now and for many years to come. (Those living in some of the world’s poorest communities are already badly affected by climate change – they must not be overlooked.)
You can join Prayer in the Park on Saturday 05 June by simply going out into nature – a garden, a local park or green space, a beach – to bring to God in prayer these worldwide issues. You can pray alone or with others (remembering Covid guidelines). And if you’d like more information or guidance, please see Tearfund’s Prayer in the Park page by clicking here.
